BSGP (Brian Storrie Grand Prix) combines all of the elements of offroad racing on a course that is right at seven miles. You will test your woods riding capabilities with some tight tree sections - ride smooth and it won't last long before you will break back out into the open for a chance to pass. If jumps are your thing, you will enjoy the moto section of this course. All jumps can be rolled, if you are not into getting air and the corners are banked for railing.
If you like going through the gears, there is some fast grass track to do just that and if you like to flow through the woods and do a few interesting up and outs of the creek area - there is some of that for you, too! Bridges are in place... so eyes off the front fender and up on the danger markers so you know when they come up and can take it easy to get across. There is a creek jump with a ramp - you can not roll this jump. The jump will only be in for the long course race, so practice the alternate if you are not in that program.
The dirt right now is dry and hardpacked for the most part - intermediate to hard tires would be a good choice. There is a section that is pretty sandy, but for the most part... the ground is solid. A little moisture mid-week and some sun by the weekend would make it just about perfect.
The property is basically flat - the only elevation changes are in and out of the creek. You won't find any rocks, but there are some roots and a few logs. Unless your fingers are made of iron, I would make sure you have barkbusters in place.
The peewee track is a mix of fast hardpack and a couple woods sections. There is some sand that is fun to ride in and a small jump for the kids. Should be a fun and fast track with excellent spectating.
Camping space is limited - this property is the smallest on the circuit - so make sure you tighten up your circles and leave room for everyone. Please be careful to not park where you are blocking the quick exit of the ambulance. Bag your trash and take it with you and if you are standing around the TORO trailer - put your trash in the bag hanging at the back of the trailer instead of on the ground, please.
NO campfires.
The moto area is close to camp and is a great place to spectate. Just make sure you cross where the crossing guard can guide you to the other side of the course without incident. Because this property is so small, it is a short walk to great spectating. Definitely a great property to bring a good pair of walking shoes or your mountain bike instead of the four-wheeler.
Bottom line - this is a real fun property to race, the spectating is excellent AND it is close to home! Thank you to the Storrie family for inviting TORO to your farm to play!
