100% VIRGIN TRAIL!!!!! Yes, this is a brand new property to motorcycle racing! Thanks to Hal Humphries, we are in for a treat this weekend. This beautiful property is located just east of Dallas and features a wide variety of terrain. The TORO staff has been hard at work for a couple months laying out a 7.5 mile track that has something for everyone. There are a couple grass track sections that are very fast and flowing. The woods range from very fast to slow and technical. Passing shouldn’t be a problem here. There are many sections with multiple lines.
The property features rolling hills and a couple of small hill climbs. However, the main elevation changes are in and out of the creek beds. Some of the creek beds can be challenging to traverse. There are a number of small logs to go over and there may be some roots showing up after the trail gets burned in. Unless your fingers are made of iron, I would make sure you have bark busters in place.
The dirt right now is slightly loamy to hard pack - intermediate tires would be a good choice. There are a few creek crossings that still have some water in them that will be slick. You don’t have to worry about rocks here. It is difficult to find any on the entire property. Overall the dirt should be excellent this weekend.
Spectating will be good in the grass track sections. There is a fire road that goes around the woods sections. You can watch riders from the fire road in various places.
The 1.3 mile peewee track is a mixture of fast grass track and flowing woods riding. There is a creek jump with a small wooden ramp for those wanting to get some air. The black dirt should be excellent and there are no rocks to worry about. Just look out for the cow pies that are all over the property. Spectating should be very good. The track is spread out over a large area in an oval shape and is relatively flat. Viewing in the grass track sections will probably be your best bet to keep an eye on your kids.
Since this is a brand new track, please follow arrows and ribbons carefully! This is new trail and not burned in yet.
Camping space is plentiful and located just inside the gate. Bag your trash and take it with you and if you are standing around the TORO trailer - put your trash in the bag hanging at the back of the trailer instead of on the ground, please.
NO campfires.
Bottom line - this is a rare opportunity to race on 100% new trail. The track is going to be a blast to ride on! The dirt should be excellent and the weather should be good. Don’t miss this one! Thank you to the Humphries family for inviting TORO to your farm to play!
