Pre-Race Recon: #803 BSGP, Denton Tx

Overview

The BSGP TORO race last year was the last event held at BSGP and the land has recovered nicely. The Storrie family has made several changes to their property and the courses since that time.

The PW course has been moved to a wooded area to the right as you enter through the gate to the tracks by the barn. The all new track gives the kids a course through the trees and along the creek and pond area. There is good spectating for the parents all around the course and it is close to camp.

The big track is to the left by the barn with a new start area, a creative grass track to spread everyone out, some tight tree sections to test your woods skills, and a couple creek crossings with or without bridges (a choice the rider can make). The MX section has been tweaked and groomed, and a new endurocross section with alternate has been added. There are several decisions to be made along the course so look for the arrows and check out the choices.

Because of the design of the course in the endurocross section, there will be no spectators allowed in the area either by foot or by pit vehicle. You can get a clear view of all of the action in this portion of the course by gathering along the far back fence in the camping area.

The new design makes it easier for pit vehicles to enter the main course area and either view the PWs on the right or the big bike track to the left. You can drive down the main road that now divides the two courses without having to cross either track. As you travel a good distance down the road (first gear idle speed with your wheels on the ground, acting right), you will come up on one track crossing clearly marked. This crossing will be manned both during practice and the race. OBEY THE CROSSING GUARD AT ALL TIMES.

PLEASE BAG YOUR TRASH AND TAKE IT WITH YOU.

NO Campfires - This means no open flames on the ground, in a barrel, above the ground, etc. You may BBQ on a standard grill, but you need to watch it closely and extinguish it fully after you are done cooking. Propane heaters are fine. Anyone found to be violating this will be escorted from the property.
