Pre-Race Recon: #806 Red River Motorcycle Trails – Bulcher, Texas

Overview

Red River Dirt Riders – Promoter

The Red River Dirt Riders have put together a really cool course in the main part of the park just across the river from the primary camping area that is a TON of fun! There is a mix of sand, hard-packed, rocky ground with elevation changes. It is a fast, flowing course with some challenges mixed in. There will be decision-makers with a bonus for making the tough stuff.

The park is closed to the public as of Monday, February 2 and will remain closed until after our event. You will enter the park just one gate North of the main gate entrance on FM 373 and camping will be straight down the road in the main camping area.

Showers and electric will not be available.

The TORO trailer will be parked at the pavilion – sign up will be on the pavilion side and the scoring chute will run on the other side. The Pee Wee track will run up the hill from the pavilion and the big track will come into the chute from across the river. There will be no camping/parking in or around the pavilion area. Please watch the signs.

ATV/Pit Riding will be limited to the camping area and all ATV/Pit vehicles will need to be parked after 10pm. Signs will be posted. Failure to comply will result in being escorted from the property. Persons authorized to enforce this are TORO Staff, Red River Dirt Riders and the Landowner. Please also pay close attention to the wire cabling in the camping area – it can be a little difficult to see at night.

There is excellent spectating just a short walk across the river bed for the big track starting at the far pump jack in camp all along the river down to the pavillion and the Pee Wee course is in the camp area.

As in the past when we have closed the course to ATV/Pit riding at the park we will have intermittent sweepers for all programs and Red River Dirt Riders will be around the course making sure people are following it and watching for injured riders, people struggling or broken bikes.

PLEASE BAG YOUR TRASH AND TAKE IT WITH YOU.

NO Campfires - This means no open flames on the ground, in a barrel, above the ground, etc. You may BBQ on a standard grill, but you need to watch it closely and extinguish it fully after you are done cooking. Propane heaters are fine. Anyone found to be violating this will be escorted from the property.

Directions

Coming from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas Area...
RRMT, Inc. is about an hour and a half north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Coming from that area, you will want to go north on I-35 to Gainesville. When you get to Gainesville, you will exit Highway 82 and go west towards Wichita Falls. You will go about thirteen miles through the towns of Lindsay and Muenster. Upon arriving in Muenster, you will turn right onto Main Street at the only stop light on Highway 82 in Muenster. You will then head north about one mile when you will come to the end of the road, keep left. You are now on FM Road 373 and traveling west. Follow this road for approximately fourteen miles to Bulcher. Considering the population of Bulcher is minimal, the only thing that people will see on their way to RRMT, Inc. will be the wide open country side, Turtle Hill Golf Course, and an old dilapidated school building from the early 1900s. Once you pass the school, the local road turns into a new paved state highway. If you look to the right, you will see the Red Bull Barn (made famous from the Red Bull Last Man Standing Race). From there on, it is about two miles to the gate. Red River Motorcycle Trails, Inc. will be located on the right and you cannot miss it.

Coming from Wichita Falls, Texas Area...
RRMT, Inc. is about an hour east of the Wichita Falls area. Travel east from Wichita Falls on Highway 82 until you reach Saint Jo. Then turn northeast on FM 2382 for approximately ten miles. After coming to a fork in the road, turn left onto FM Road 373 and stay on this new paved state highway for approximately two miles and then you will see the park entrance on your right.

Coming from Lawton, Oklahoma Area...
Take Highway 7 East to Duncan. In Duncan, take Highway 81 South to Ryan. In Ryan, take Highway 32 East to 89/32 Spur. Turn right to follow 89 South. You will take 89 South to the T Intersection. Then turn left to follow 677 South. Take 677 South to the 677/373 Y Intersection. Follow 373 to the left.
