The Big Bike course is approximately 8.4 miles. Gary Vieth is the landowner/promoter and has done an excellent job combining sections of his motorcross track with the surrounding woods. He has added about 3 miles of brand new trail to the course that has not been ridden before. The track also incorporates the entire MX track. There are many challenges on the course and decisions that riders will have to make along the way. Gary has put areas in that require you to decide if you want to be challenged by a shorter, harder way or a longer, less difficult route (including to endurocross or not) - so look for these and pick your poison. The extreme section alternate is much longer this year with a couple small logs thrown in to make the time difference greater.
There are a couple challenging rocky hills to climb and descend and several new tight sections to navigate through the trees while dealing with the rocks. There are some creek caverns to drop into and back out of and then back to the MX to air it out a little. The extreme section will be right before the finish line, so we may have some exciting 'go for broke' finishes!
The camping is in a field and there is plenty to go around. Please remember we are all guests on Gary's land so be respectful and clean up your trash and take it with you. NO FIRES. You may cook on a grill, but do NOT leave it unattended and please FULLY extinguish the ambers when you are done.
Make sure you stay within the mowed and marked track areas. If you stray off the trail there are things in the weeds that will ruin your day!
Spectating should be excellent. The Endurocross section and much of the MX track is visible from the camping area.
As you enter the property the peewee track will be immediately on the right. The peewee track is 1.1 miles long and features tight woods with some open areas for passing. This year the motocross track is not part of the peewee track. The trail drops down into a creek bed a couple times for some small elevation changes. The trail has a few rocky sections but it is mainly hard pack with some really nice loamy dirt back in the woods. Overall, this should be a fast and fun track for the peewees!
